Vybz Kartel is a Jamaican artist who has been compared to Tupac of the American Hip Hop music. Well in order to evaluate that we need to see the similarities and the differences. Let us first start with Tupac Shakur who is one of the best rap music artists in the world. He has sold over 75 millions albums to date and Kartel has not come close to this in album sells. Vybz Kartel like Tupac Shakur was, he is a top selling Dancehall artist who also has a promising career in Entrepreneurship. Tupac in his songs he spoke of growing up in violence, hardships, racism and problems with other rap artists. The only similarity here is that Vybz Kartel sings about having clashing with other DJs.

Tupac was a target for numerous lawsuits and other legal matters and as even gone to prison for sexual assault. Kartel has never been involved in any of these cases but he has been accused of violence towards women notably his child’s mother and former members of his Portmore Empire artists. Shakur was shot in 1994 five times and following the event he blamed other figures in the rapping industry for knowing and not informing him, this was directed at Notorious B.I.G who was his friend. This incident sparked the controversial East Coast-West Coast rivalry.

However, for Vybz Kartel he was apart of the Alliance where he and Mavado were friends but due to the fact that he duet with the leader’s Bounty Killer former girlfriend D’Angel this was not accepted by Bounty Killer so he exited the Alliance. Since Mavado is now the top artist for the Alliance and Kartel has form his own Alliance there is constant feuding between them. Now Tupac Shakur has been dead for about fourteen years with just about 5 years within the music business. Kartel is still very much alive and have over ten years in the music and his career is still booming.

It is important to note that even after his death his records are still being sold this spoke to his extraordinary talent. Can you imagine a dead man still making money in his grave? This is the point where they are undoubtedly similar. Kartel is an artist who is lyrically talented and even with his lewd lyrics he has rhymes that are unbelievable different and out of this world.

Sure Vybz Kartel has the same appeal as Tupac Shakur did while he was here but to say that Vybz Kartel in becoming the Dancehall Tupac is not doing justice to Kartel who is in a class by himself. They both have strong lyrical content that have gotten followers and making them heros to some. So from that angle Vybz Kartel can be seen as becoming the Tupac of Dancehall music in terms of his poetic creativity. Otherwise from that Vybz Kartel is unique in his style and should not be compared to Tupac. Tupac was loved and admired for his work and was seen as a rose that grew out of concrete. As much as Kartel is creative and witty with his lyrics it will a long time before anyone see him as a rose that would have grown out of concrete or if ever.

Jamaica is an island in the Caribbean that is full of diversity; the people are of all races and produce a mix of culture like no other. This also has an effect on the unique music that is produced in this sweet island of Jamaica. The music is part of the people and of course is just has unique as the people themselves. There is no other type of music like Jamaican music, these melodious and groovy beats are one of a kind and cannot in any way be compared to any other genre of music today. It is an amazing thing that such a great music can come from such a small place on the earth.

Sometime people wish to hear a different style of music other than the typical mainstream pop that is played. Once you have searched and found the Jamaican style of music I am sure that you would prefer none other that it. Jamaican music consists of ska, rocksteady and also dancehall. Throughout the history of Jamaican music there have been many artists who have push the genre into higher heights and making it what it is today. We all know of the legendary Bob Marley. He is no doubt the most famous reggae artist to ever come forth of Jamaica and will be the only. He has set the international level for reggae music like none other can imagine doing.

The style of reggae, ska and dancehall are so unique that it is amazing. The do not follow the typical way of making music. Most of the instruments used are used in a totally different way and also pattern. The music produced can be groovy or even serious. This unique genre can have many different forms and different melodies. Back in the earliest days of reggae music the artists used to put out songs which spoke of the hardship of ghetto life and the unity of brothers. We all are also very familiar to the marijuana songs as well which is very popular in Jamaica. The form of reggae is also one of the few types of music which can be played year round and is not seasonal. From Christmas to new years it does not matter reggae music is fit for all occasions.

Some of the leading reggae artists today are Sizzla, Capleton, Tarrus Riley and Richie Spice. These artists have taken over from the starters of this art form such as Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh and Gregory Isaacs to name a few. The music industry in Jamaica has been able to help everyone by providing many jobs and outlets to escape violence and poverty and at the same time they manage to stick to their roots and not give in.

Bashment is also dancehall and is not much of a difference if any at all. The origination of bashment music is from the Caribbean which now has also been spread throughout the world. Today many artists come from Germany, Canada, Africa and also China. The music art form has evolved into something greater than anyone could have predicted. It is part of the society that we live in today and also is the trend setter in the music business today. It leads the way in music throughout the Caribbean and is a force to be reckoned with. Some of the first bashment music artists to come about were Wayne Smith, Shabba Ranks, and Super Cat to name a few, Shabba Ranks being the first to be premiered on MTV and Super Cat for being the first East-Indian bashment artist. These artists made a massive impact on the music scene in American and from them has today come major artists such as Shaggy, Mavado, Sean Paul and Elephant man to name a few. There are also artists from Europe and all over the world like Collie Buddz, Ill Inspecta and Cali P. These new artists are quickly improving and changing the sound of bashment music keeping it fresh and up to date for the younger generation.

Compared to the 90’s and 80’s the bashment music has evolved tremendously and is to this day continuing to grow to unexpected levels. The well known producer known as King Jammy was the first to reveal this digital form of bashment. This new music did not waste any time in claiming its throne becoming the dominant genre of music in the Caribbean. Soon after taking over the Caribbean it quickly began to enter the hearts of other countries as well. It is a genre that not only makes you groove and dance but also gives an insight to the lives and problems of the Caribbean people. If you have ever listened to dancehall music then you know that it is from the Caribbean as it totally fits the personality of a typical Caribbean person. This genre simply cannot be compared to any other types of music anywhere in the world. The signature sound of bashment music is its own and is only evolving into something new.

bashment music being a worldwide genre is still most popular in the Caribbean at its home where most of the artists and producers come from. It gives the younger generation a chance to fulfill a dream and to make a carrier of it. It is more than just music but a passion and a lifestyle to people. If you have not yet heard bashmentyet then make it a must to do so, it’s captivating and unique and you will surely fall in love with it and would see why it is being so wide spread today.

Who does not know Bob Marley? Who does not like him and his reggae CD? Even though he is long gone, his music still lives on. Bob Marley is the first Jamaican artist who gained international super stardom. His songs became the voice of the Jamaican everyday struggle for oppression and discrimination. His songs have three meanings- faith, devotion and revolution. His song s was compiled into reggae CDs at the present time.

Robert Nesta Marley is no other than Bob Marley. He actually left his home when he was at the age of 14. He left his home at the early age to pursue his music career. His mentor is Joe Higgs, a Rastafarian. His first single was released in 1962 with the title Judge Not. He became part of the vocal group known as the Teenagers together with his co-artists such as Peter Tosh, Bunny Livingston, Junior Braithwaite, Beverly Kelso and Cherry Smith.

Later, they were launched as the Wailers. Their first debut album contained a song entitled I’m Still Waiting. He became the lead vocalist when the other two members left the group. Their next song following the I’m Still waiting was the Simmer Down. The band had recorded many songs after their first two hits. Their songs include: Let Him Go, Dancing Shoes, Jerk in Time, who feels It Knows It and What Am I to do. The band disbanded in the year 1966.

Bob Marley married Rita Anderson, a singer also and she was part of the group the Soulettes. He left his music career for awhile and then reformed his band, the Wailers. They released Bend down Low. They devoted themselves with Rastafari Faith that became the cornerstone of their lives and of course their music.

This was only a short history of how Bob Marley was known all over the world. Definitely, Bob Marley is part of the history not only in the world of music but also in lives of all people who were influenced by his music.

Even though, he left his music career near the beginning, he stayed as the reggae icon all over the world. Even up to the present moment, no one can beat his legacy. His son, Ziggy Marley continues the journey. His followers continued his music.

The biggest record to date that put Bob Marley into fame produced the hits Waiting in Vain, Jamming and People Get ready. Before he died in May 11 1981 at the age of 36, Babylon by Bus and Survival loomed Bob Marley’s biggest career date in 1980.

Bob Marley’s reggae CDs are still one of the saleable reggae CD collection nowadays. Many reggae artists of the present time were influenced by him. His three children entered the music industry also. In Bob Marley’s official website, original Bob Marley songs re-imagined for fans of all ages produced by Ziggy Marley. His father’s reggae CDs and videos that contains concerts and other shows are on presale right now.

Many foreigners come from across the globe to take part in these weekly parties, from Japan to American and From Europe to Africa. It is an even which shows off the dance skills of the people with the masterpiece of the dancehall music. This party is known to start from about 1am and sometimes goes straight to 8am and is nonstop music.

It has brought a sense of peace where all people from areas which are known to be violent come and enjoy themselves and have fun without out worry. New artists come in the hopes of getting their music played, established ones come to test new sounds and discover the next big thing. Dancers some of whom were once violent gang members work to attract the attention from the big name entertainers, producers and promoters. These are opportunities to change their circumstances in ways neither the gun nor the politicians can change.
